LaGuardia Airport (LGA) is the closest major airport to Westchester County, which makes it our most-booked airport route. But “closest” does not mean “easiest” — LGA’s terminal layout and the surrounding Grand Central Parkway choke points mean a 22-mile drive can easily take 75 minutes during rush hour. This guide walks through everything Westchester travelers should know before booking LGA car service from Westchester.
The first decision is terminal. Since 2022, LaGuardia has operated three primary terminals: Terminal A (Marine Air Terminal, mostly used for Delta Shuttle to BOS/DCA/ORD), Terminal B (the brand-new headhouse serving American, Air Canada, JetBlue, Southwest, United, and others), and Terminal C (Delta’s purpose-built terminal for all non-shuttle Delta flights). Your terminal determines which curb your chauffeur drops you at and which security checkpoint you walk to.
Routing-wise, the Whitestone Bridge + Grand Central Parkway is the standard White Plains to LGA route, typically 35–75 minutes. When the Whitestone backs up (Friday afternoons, Sunday evenings), our chauffeurs reroute via the Throgs Neck Bridge + BQE + Grand Central, which adds maybe 10 minutes off-peak but saves 25+ when the Whitestone stops. The Bronx River Parkway is a reliable backup for Scarsdale and lower Westchester pickups.
